Weddings
There is probably no more memorable or important occasion than your wedding day. Our grade 1 listed, 17th century building is full of character and history. It is set within a beautiful stone built, Georgian town, within a short walk of St Peter’s and Most Holy Name of Jesus churches.
Alternatively, you may also have your wedding ceremony with us - our hotel is licensed as a venue for marriages.
The hotel has 35 en-suite rooms and four function rooms. The Whitwell Room has traditional oak panelling, stone fireplaces and is suitable for wedding ceremonies. It has seating capacity for 60. The Westgate Suite has a reception area, bar facilities, a dance floor and provides direct access to our garden. We can seat 70 guests and family for formal dining - with a combination of 6 to 10 seat tables – or 100 guests and family for buffet dining.
As for the occasion itself, our mission is to meet your requirements – not the other way around. Whether your wedding is small or large, as far as we are concerned it’s still a big occasion. Our team will work with you to organise a wedding ceremony at the hotel and/or the reception. On the day itself, our staff will use their experience to facilitate a smooth transition from ceremony to reception. We also know a wedding day may be stressful. Our job is to take some of this stress away by providing your guests with the service demanded by such an occasion.
We have a recommended choice of drinks for your reception. Private bar facilities are available. We have an excellent selection of new and old world wines.
